With unparalleled style, the Leafbud collection is sure to grab attention, and features a variety of choices of pendants, necklaces, earrings and a showstopping cocktail ring. Made from solid tarnish-resistant silver with a choice of different surface treatments, four different colours are available: silver, oxidised, yellow gold and rose gold plated, all with a satin finish and highly polished silver edges, creating a stunning contrast with the body of the piece.

Designed to mix and match with the Spiral collection.

Everyday life reimagined into exquisite designs
making leafbud

Whoever would have thought that a walk to the local supermarket would result in the inspiration for one of my most distinctive collections? Yet that is what happened as I walked past some trees recently planted by the local council. The budding new leaves had an interesting anticlastic shape with the main vein of the leaf bending backwards. I immediately had a mental image of a new pendant style, when I should have been thinking about what to cook for dinner. More focused on creating a new collection than on my grocery list, I left behind some essential ingredients.

The design process was similar to that for the leaf collection. From Leafbud, the Spiral collection evolved as a natural progression, and I have continued to expand both. Some of the designs have come about from requests from customers: 'Do you have a longer pair of hook earrings in this style?' My response was 'not yet, but give me a couple of months'. Thanks Lyn and Patricia!

Caring for your Spiral or Leafbud jewellery
cleaning materials for Leafbud jewellery

I strongly recommend storing your Leafbud and Spiral jewellery carefully to preserve its beauty. It is best to keep it in an airtight environment like a zip lock plastic bag or wrapped in cloth or tissue paper. Don’t leave silver jewellery out in the open as circulating air will speed up any tarnishing. Your Leafbud and spiral jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

Your jewellery should never be sprayed with perfume, hairspray or deodorant as these can cause a patina to develop on the silver. Never allow your silver jewellery to come in contact with chlorine pools or any chemicals. Do not use anything abrasive on the jewellery; abrasive particles will scratch the surface, particularly on the black oxidised and yellow and rose gold-plated finishes.

Silver pieces will need to be dipped in a silver dip from time to time, like Hagerty Silver Clean which is available online. Simply dip the item in the silver dip for a couple of seconds only, then rinse thoroughly with water. After thorough rinsing the next most important thing is to dry the jewellery completely using a tissue, particularly in the crevices of the leaf and spiral. If you have a hairdryer available you can blast it with some hot air, (be careful: the jewellery will be hot!) but this is not essential; the main thing is that it’s dried properly as tiny spots of water will leave a water mark and the process will have to be repeated.

However, if you have a necklace strung on multi strand white or steel cable never allow the cable to come in contact with the silver dip. The cable itself should never need to be cleaned other than wiping with a soft cloth. This same process can be used on the pieces with yellow and rose gold plating. Any items which have a black oxidised finish should need very little cleaning. A simple wipe with a silver polishing cloth over the polished silver edges should be all that is needed.
